Every flexi toy on this site is printed after you order it, and that is the first thing worth knowing about our 3D print shipping time. Nothing is sitting in a bin waiting to be grabbed. When an order comes in, a machine is loaded with the color you chose, the piece is printed, and only then does it get packed.
That changes the arithmetic a little. A warehouse ships the same day because the item already exists. We add printing time at the front, then hand the package to the post the same way anyone else would. There is also a second route that removes the postal half entirely, which is free pickup in Como or at our Canton Trade Days booth.
Plan on one to three business days of printing before a package moves, then two to five business days in transit, or choose pickup and skip the second half of that entirely.
Your Order Starts a Print, Not a Pick From a Shelf
When you place an order, the first thing that happens is a job gets queued. The design is sliced for the size you picked, the filament for your color goes on the machine, and the print runs, usually overnight for anything larger than a Mini.
A flexi comes off the plate as one piece with the joints already formed, so there is no assembly step. There is an inspection step. Every piece is worked joint by joint by hand before it is packed, because a joint that fused during printing is the one fault a photograph will never show you.
Printed to order is why a custom color costs nothing extra. Nothing was made in advance, so a combination nobody has ordered before is no more work than the default. It is also why we cannot always ship in a few hours.
A failed print restarts the clock, not the order. Prints do fail occasionally. When one does, it is reprinted rather than shipped, which is the main reason a piece sometimes lands at the far end of the printing window.
The queue is real but short. We print daily, and orders go in the order they arrive, which is why a Saturday night order and a Monday morning order often ship on the same day.
3D Print Shipping Time: One to Three Days on the Plate, Two to Five in Transit
Here are the two numbers that matter, kept separate because people often add them wrong.
Printing and inspection take one to three business days. That is the window between your order landing and the package leaving the house. It covers the print itself, the joint check and the packing.
Transit takes two to five business days. We ship with USPS and email a tracking number the moment a package leaves. That second number belongs to the carrier, not to us, and weather and holidays move it.
Business days do not include weekends. An order placed on Friday evening is likely to be printed early the following week, so the calendar gap can look longer than the working gap.
Some orders sit at the long end. A large or X-Large piece takes many more hours on the plate than a Micro. A custom color that needs a filament change, or a bulk order of party favors, also runs longer.
If an order will take more than five business days, we email you. That is a promise about communication rather than speed. You should never have to guess where a print is.
Added together, a typical order arrives roughly three to eight business days after you place it. If you are buying for a birthday, count backwards from the date and add a few days of margin.
What Shipping Costs, and When It Is Free
Shipping is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay, so nothing about the cost is a surprise after the fact.
Orders of $100 or more ship free within the United States. That threshold is the reason a lot of collectors and party planners batch their orders rather than buying one piece at a time.
Orders under $100 are priced by weight. Flexi toys are light, so the numbers stay small. A single small flexi usually ships for $4.90 by Economy or $6.90 by Standard.
Several small pieces often cost the same to post as one. Weight moves in steps, so adding a Micro or a keychain to an existing order frequently adds nothing to the shipping line.
We ship within the United States. If you are outside the US and want to order, email sales@cosmic3dcreations.com before you buy and we will tell you whether we can ship to you and what it would cost. The full terms are on our shipping policy page.
How a Flexi Is Packed for the Post
Flexi toys travel well. They are solid PLA with no glue, no batteries and no separate parts to lose, and the joints are the strongest thing about them when they are supported.
Packing is mostly about stopping pieces moving against each other. A bag of loose flexis rattling in a box will arrive with scuffs on the high points, so an order is packed to hold the pieces still rather than to fill space.
Heat is the one real risk in transit. PLA softens somewhere above 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which a metal mailbox in a Texas July can reach. If you are ordering in high summer, bringing the package inside promptly matters more than anything we can do with packaging.
Check the joints before you put the piece away. Work each joint gently through its range when you open the package. Stiffness on a new print is normal and usually frees up after a few cycles.
Keep the packaging until you have looked it over. If anything did go wrong in transit, photographs of both the packaging and the piece are what we need to sort it out.
After that first check, a flexi needs very little. A wipe with warm water when it gets dusty, and a shelf out of direct sun, covers almost everything.
Two Ways to Skip Shipping Entirely
Pickup is free, and for people within driving distance of Como or Canton it is usually the better choice. There are two versions of it and they work differently.
Pickup at our home office in Como, Texas
Choose Pickup at checkout instead of a shipping method. We print the order on the same one to three business day schedule, then email you when it is ready to collect. There is no cost and no transit time, so the only wait is the printing.
Pickup at the Canton Trade Days booth
You can also order online and collect at our booth in Pavilion 4200, booth 4268/4269. Place the order, then email sales@cosmic3dcreations.com to arrange booth pickup on a show weekend. The remaining 2026 dates are October 1 to 4, October 29 to November 1, and December 3 to 6, all Thursday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm, and they are listed on the events page.
Booth pickup takes a little planning because we are only there on show weekends. Ordering ahead is the way to guarantee a specific creature in a specific color, since what we carry to a show is a selection rather than the whole catalog.
Which Route Makes Sense for Your Order
Most people already know which one suits them. These are the cases where the answer is not obvious.
A gift with a fixed date should ship early. Order at least a week and a half ahead. The printing window is predictable, the carrier is not, and margin costs nothing.
An order near $100 is worth rounding up. If you are at $85, another piece or two often costs less than paying for shipping on the original order.
A color you need to see should wait for the booth. Screens lie about silk and color-changing filaments. If an exact shade matters, pick it in person.
A large piece is the best argument for pickup. An X-Large dragon is the item where transit handling matters most, and collecting it means it never rides in a truck.
Party favors need lead time, not speed. Twenty matching pieces in one color is a print queue, not a shelf pull. Email us with the date and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
If you are still deciding what to order, the best sellers collection is the fastest way to see what people buy most.
If Something Goes Wrong With an Order
Most orders are uneventful. These are the four situations that actually come up, and what to do in each.
A wrong address can be fixed before the package ships. Email sales@cosmic3dcreations.com as soon as you notice. Once the carrier has the package we cannot redirect it, and a package returned to us for a bad address can be reshipped at the buyer's cost.
Tracking says delivered but nothing arrived. Check with neighbors and your local post office first, because that is where most of these end. Then contact us within seven days and we will help file a carrier claim.
The package arrived damaged. Email photos of the packaging and the item within seven days of delivery and we will replace the damaged pieces.
The piece is not what you expected. Tell us. Colors read differently on a screen, and sizes are measured nose to tail, so a 2 inch Regular is smaller in the hand than most people picture. Email us and we will answer, usually the same day.
Common Questions About 3D Print Shipping Time
How long will my order take to arrive?
Usually three to eight business days from order to doorstep. One to three of those are printing and inspection, and two to five are transit with USPS.
Does a custom color make the 3D print shipping time longer?
Sometimes by a day, never by more. A custom color can mean a filament change on the machine, which is why those orders sit at the longer end of the printing window. It costs nothing extra.
Do you ship the same day?
No. Nothing is pre-made, so there is always a print to run first. Local pickup in Como is the closest thing to a fast option, and it still needs the printing window.
Is local pickup really free?
Yes, for both Como and the Canton booth. Choosing pickup at checkout removes the shipping charge entirely, whatever the order is worth.
Can I combine an online order with a booth visit?
Yes, and people do it often. Order the specific pieces you want ahead of a show, then browse the table for the ones you did not know you wanted. Our booth guide covers what to expect when you get there.
Plan the 3D Print Shipping Time Into Your Deadline
The whole thing comes down to two windows and one choice. One to three business days to print and inspect, two to five in transit, and the option to remove the second window by collecting the order yourself.
If you remember nothing else, remember to order early for anything with a date attached, and to round an order up to $100 if you are close, because free shipping is the easiest discount in the store to earn.
At Cosmic 3D Creations, every piece is printed to order in Como, Texas, checked joint by joint before it is packed, and sent out with tracking or set aside for you to collect. If a date is tight or an order is unusually large, email us before you buy and we will tell you plainly whether it will make it in time.
