3D Printed Farm Animals: Cows, Horses, Pigs, Goats and Chickens Compared

This guide is for farm kids, 4-H families, backyard flock keepers and anyone filling a shelf with barnyard animals. We print eleven 3D printed farm animals: four cows, a horse, a pony, a pig, a goat, a sheep, a chicken and a duck. Every one bends and holds a pose, and they run from a $1.00 Micro Pig to a $15.00 X-Large Horse.

Below we cover each design with the sizes and prices from its product page, then show what a full farm set costs at each size. If you want a matched set, start with the six animals on the same size menu, because a Regular cow, pig and chicken all come out the same 2 inches and can be ordered together in one step.

Eleven 3D Printed Farm Animals in Our Catalog

Each animal is printed in place as a single piece of premium PLA. The joints form on the print plate with a small gap between each segment, so nothing is glued or snapped together. The animal comes off the printer already able to move.

The eleven fall into three groups by how you order them.

Six share the classic size menu. The Cow with Spots, Horse, Pig, Goat, Chicken and Duck each come in Micro (1 inch), Mini (1.5 inch), Regular (2 inch), Large (3 inch), X-Large (6 inch) and a Keychain size with a ring.

Two cows have their own sizes. The Flat Back Cow and the Stuffy Cow each have a shorter menu with different prices.

Three come in one size. The Highland Cow, the Pony and the Sheep have no size menu at all.

All eleven are in our farm collection. You will also find the bees, the snail, the slug, a catfish and a mouse there, since they belong around a barn too.

Four Cows, and Why They Look So Different

Cows are the biggest group on the farm, and each of the four is a separate design rather than the same cow in a new color.

The Cow with Spots: the classic dairy cow

The spots are part of the sculpt, so it reads as a dairy cow from any angle, even in a single color. It is jointed from head to tail, and it bends down to graze, lies down, or stands and stares. Micro is $1.00, Mini $1.75, Regular $2.75, Large $7.00, X-Large $15.00 and Keychain $8.00.

The Flat Back Cow: the one that sprawls

This is a spotted cow with a flat back, built to lie flat on a desk or curl up. It starts at Regular (2 inch) for $3.75, then Large (3 inch) at $7.00, X-Large (6 inch) at $15.00 and Keychain at $8.00. There is no Micro or Mini.

The Stuffy Cow: a plush shape in plastic

The Stuffy Cow copies a stuffed animal, with a plump body and stubby legs, and it sits up as well as bends. Small (2 inch) is $5.00, Regular (4 inch) is $7.00 and Large (6 inch) is $14.00. It is the only cow with a Color menu: Rainbow - Will Vary, Black And White, Pink/Purple Mix and Highland.

The Highland Cow: stocky and sturdy

The Highland Cow stands about 4 inches tall and is one of the sturdier animals we make. It is in our Best Sellers collection. It comes in one size at $7.00, in Brown Mix, Brown or Rainbow - Will Vary.

The Horse and the Pony Are Two Separate Designs

People often ask whether the Pony is just a small Horse. It is not. They are different sculpts with different ordering.

The Horse has long, flowing lines. The neck arches and the body bends, so it can gallop across a desk or stand with its head up. It uses the classic menu: Micro $1.00, Mini $1.75, Regular $2.75, Large $7.00, X-Large $15.00 and Keychain $8.00.

The Pony comes in a single size at $10.00, with no keychain option. Set it mid-trot or curled up resting. Ordering is simple: type a color and add it to the cart.

For horse colors, palomino gold, chestnut and black all work well in the Custom color box. If a child wants a purple horse, that is the same price.

Pig, Goat and Sheep: The Small Barnyard

The Pig curls up for a nap or stands with its snout in the air. It costs a little less than the other classic-menu animals at the top end: Micro $1.00, Mini $1.75, Regular $2.75, Large $6.00, X-Large $15.00 and Keychain $7.00. Pink is the obvious color, but spotted and black pigs are real too.

The Goat is jointed from the horns to the tail, so it holds a head-down butt, a mid-hop or a lazy stretch. It is on the classic menu at $1.00, $1.75, $2.75, $7.00 and $15.00, with an $8.00 Keychain. 4-H families who show goats tend to order this one in their own herd's colors.

The Sheep has a textured, wool-like surface, so it reads as a sheep from across the room. It comes in one size with a Keychain option: No for the figure on its own at $7.00, or Yes for $8.00, which adds a ring for a backpack or a set of keys.

The Chicken and the Duck Move at the Neck

Birds have less to bend than four-legged animals, so most of the movement is in the neck and body.

The Chicken bends through the body and holds a pecking or standing pose. White, brown and black match a real flock, and backyard flock keepers often order one in the colors of a favorite hen.

The Duck tips its head, curves its body and curls up. A row of Ducks in different sizes makes a little parade across a windowsill.

Both are on the classic menu: Micro $1.00, Mini $1.75, Regular $2.75, Large $7.00, X-Large $15.00 and Keychain $8.00.

What a Set of 3D Printed Farm Animals Costs

The six classic-menu animals (Cow with Spots, Horse, Pig, Goat, Chicken and Duck) make the easiest set, because the sizes match. Here is what all six cost together at each size.

  • Micro (1 inch): $6.00 for all six
  • Regular (2 inch): $16.50 for all six
  • Large (3 inch): $41.00 for all six
  • X-Large (6 inch): $90.00 for all six

The Large set is over $35, so it ships free by Economy. Below $35, Economy shipping is $3.99. A Regular set plus the Highland Cow and the Sheep comes to $30.50, and adding the Pony takes it to $40.50.

The sizes are lengths, not scale. Each size is a nose-to-tail length, and it is approximate. A Regular Chicken and a Regular Cow are both about 2 inches long, so the chicken looks as big as the cow. For a play farm that looks closer to real life, order the bigger animals one size up: Large cows and horses with Regular chickens and ducks. Our flexi toy size guide explains how each size is measured.

For party favors, Micro farm animals are $1.00 each. A farm-themed birthday for twelve children could give each child two Micros for $24.00.

Colors for Farm Animals: Real Breeds or Bright

Every product page has a Custom color box above Add to cart. Type the color you want, and it costs the same as any other color. If we are out of that color when we print, we message you with the closest match before we start.

For a real-breed look, ask for black and white for a Holstein-style Cow with Spots, red-brown for a Hereford feel, white for a Leghorn chicken, or chestnut for a horse. One plain color usually reads more like the real animal than two.

For a child's set, give each animal its own bright color. It makes them easy to tell apart and easy to find in a toy bin.

For someone's own animals, describe them in the box, such as "brown goat with a white face" or "black and white pony". We print in one or two colors, so we cannot paint markings in a precise spot, but a two-color request gets close on many designs.

Common Questions About 3D Printed Farm Animals

Are they safe for a toddler?

Regular (2 inch) and Large (3 inch) sizes are big enough for a young child to grab and flex. Micro and Mini pieces are a choking risk, so keep them away from children who still put things in their mouths, and check joints now and then on toys that see hard play.

Which farm animal is the sturdiest?

The Highland Cow, with its stocky body and short legs. Among the classic-menu animals, the Large size holds up best to everyday handling, since every joint is bigger.

Can they go outside or in the barn?

Indoors is better. PLA starts to soften above about 140°F, so a hot car, a sunny dashboard or a summer barn can warp them. They are not chew toys for dogs or other animals either.

How long does an order take?

Each animal is printed after you order, inspected joint by joint and shipped in 1 to 3 business days, then the carrier's transit time is added on top.

Pick 3D Printed Farm Animals by Who Will Play With Them

For a child building a play farm, start with the six classic-menu animals at Regular or Large, in bright colors. For a collector or a farmhouse shelf, the Highland Cow, the Stuffy Cow and the Pony have the most character in one piece. For a keychain, the Sheep with a ring or any classic-menu animal in the Keychain size.

Whichever you choose, check the inches in the size menu first. Our 3D printed farm animals use three different menus, and the inches tell you how they will sit beside each other.

At Cosmic 3D Creations, every cow, horse, pig and chicken is printed to order in Como, Texas, in the colors you ask for, and flexed joint by joint before it is packed.
