Flexi Toy Sets: The Lobster Bucket, Bee Hive, Guinea Pig House and Dragon Eggs

Flexi toy sets pair an articulated creature with a second printed piece: a bucket for the lobster, a hive for the Horned Bee, a house for the guinea pig, an egg for two of our dragons, a skull for the crow and a shell for the hermit crab. You choose the set from a menu on the product page, and the price shown there already includes the prop.

This guide is for anyone who has seen "With Bucket" or "Egg: Yes" on a product page and wondered what it adds. It covers where each option sits, what the prop costs, how to ask for two colors, and which sets suit a gift or a shelf.

The creature is the same with or without the prop, so buy the set when you want a small scene, and the creature alone when you want something to fidget with.

Seven Flexi Toy Sets in Our Catalog

Seven products come with an optional or included second piece. In every case the creature is printed in one piece with its joints in place, and the prop is a separate print that goes with it.

The Lobster comes with or without a small printed bucket.

The Horned Bee comes alone, with a hive and one bee, or with a hive and two bees. The hive is also sold by itself.

The Guinea Pig with House comes as a Small Set, a Large Set, both sets, or the guinea pig alone.

The Dragon Egg is a dragon in three sizes, with or without its egg.

The Rose Dragon is a rose-themed dragon, with or without its egg.

The Crow comes with or without a skull in four of its sizes.

The Hermit Crabs always come with a shell, and you pick the shell color separately from the crab.

One design looks like a set but is not. The Capybara With Apple holds its apple as part of the same print, so there is nothing to choose. It is $7, or $8 with a keychain ring.

Where the Set Option Sits on Each Product Page

Each of these products names its set option differently, so it is easy to miss. Check the menus above Add to cart before you order.

Style is the menu on the Lobster (With Bucket or Without Bucket) and on the Guinea Pig with House (Small Set, Large Set, Both Sets or Guinea Pig Only).

Size carries the hive on the Horned Bee. Its menu has 15 entries, because Micro to Large each appear three ways: no hive, a hive with one bee, and a hive with two bees.

Egg is a Yes or No menu on the Dragon Egg and the Rose Dragon. It is the last menu on both pages.

Skull is a Yes or No menu on the Crow.

Shell is the third menu on the Hermit Crabs, with White, Brown or Black.

What the Prop Adds to the Price of Flexi Toy Sets

These prices come from the live product pages. The difference is what you pay for the second piece.

Lobster bucket: $3. The Lobster is $7 alone and $10 with the bucket.

Horned Bee hive: $4 up to Regular, $7 at Large. A Regular (2 in) bee is $2.75 alone and $6.75 with the hive. A second bee costs the price of one more bee, so two Regular bees with a hive are $9.50. At Large (3 in) the bee is $7, with a hive $14, and with two bees $21. The X-Large comes without a hive.

Hive alone: $4. The Hive (Small) option is the same $4 the hive adds at Micro, Mini and Regular, which makes it the easy way to give a bee you already own a home.

Crow skull: double the crow's price. With the skull, each size costs twice the crow alone: $2 in Micro, $3.50 in Mini, $5.50 in Regular and $14 in Large. The X-Large ($14) and the Keychain - Crow Only ($8) have no skull.

Dragon Egg: $7 to $20. The Tadling is $5 alone and $12 with the egg. The 11.5 inch is $10 and $18. The 24 inch is $25 and $45.

Rose Dragon egg: $8. The dragon is $12 alone and $20 with its egg.

Guinea pig house: priced as sets. The guinea pig alone is $7. The Small Set is $18 and the Large Set is $30. Both Sets together are $40, which is $8 less than buying the two sets separately.

Hermit crab shell: included. The shell is part of the price at every size: Baby $8, Regular $12, XL $25.

Sets for a Desk or a Garden Shelf: Bucket, Hive and Shell

The Lobster and its bucket

The Lobster's tail curls and straightens and holds a pose. The bucket gives it somewhere to sit, which turns one figure into a small beach scene for a desk or a bathroom shelf.

The Horned Bee and its hive

The hive is where the bee set earns its place. One bee on a hive reads as a gift for a gardener. Two bees read as a pair, which works for a couple or two children. Because each size has its own price, you can keep a two-bee set under $10 at Regular, or go to Large for a shelf piece at $21.

The Hermit Crabs and their shells

The hermit crab is the one set where the prop is not optional. The choice is the color. A red crab in a white shell looks like the real animal. A rainbow crab in a black shell is easier to spot on a busy shelf. Both cost the same.

All three sit naturally with the rest of our ocean collection, if you want to build a larger scene around them.

Sets for a Display Shelf: Dragon Eggs, the Guinea Pig House and the Crow's Skull

Dragons with eggs

The Dragon Egg has detail worked into the shell, so it holds up on its own as a display piece. The Tadling set at $12 is a small, complete gift. The 24 inch set at $45 is the largest set we print, and it is a centerpiece rather than a toy.

The Rose Dragon is finely detailed and belongs on a shelf rather than in a backpack. With its egg it is $20. Both are in our dragon eggs collection.

The Guinea Pig with House

The house gives the guinea pig somewhere to sit between fidgets. The guinea pig comes in Brown or Gray, and the set colors vary. The product page does not list what each set holds, so if the difference between Small and Large matters for your gift, ask us before you order.

The Crow and its skull

The skull turns a crow into a gothic display piece. A Large crow on its skull in black is the most striking version, at $14. In Micro the skull adds $1, which makes it a cheap way to add a dark note to a party bag or a shelf of small pieces.

Two Colors in One Set: How to Ask for Them

Most sets have two pieces, so you can ask for two colors. Use the Custom color box above Add to cart, and name each piece.

Write it as piece and color. "Red lobster, blue bucket" or "yellow bee, white hive" leaves nothing to guess.

Use the menus where they exist. The Hermit Crabs have a Color menu for the crab and a Shell menu for the shell, so you rarely need the box. The Dragon Egg's Color menu offers Rainbow - Will Vary, Single, Dual and Surprise Me!!. The Rose Dragon's has Dual Red/Green in place of Dual.

Expect variety on the guinea pig sets. The set options say "Colors Will Vary". Pick Brown or Gray for the guinea pig, and write a request in the box if you have one.

If a color is out when your order comes up, we message you with the closest match before we start printing.

Which Flexi Toy Set to Give as a Gift

Sets make good gifts because they look complete when the box is opened. Here is how they fall by budget.

Under $10: a Micro Horned Bee with hive and one bee ($5), a Regular Crow with skull ($5.50), two Regular Horned Bees with a hive ($9.50), or a Baby Hermit Crab with its shell ($8).

$10 to $25: the Lobster with bucket ($10), the Tadling Dragon Egg set ($12), the Small Guinea Pig Set ($18), the 11.5 inch Dragon Egg set ($18), the Rose Dragon with egg ($20) or two Large Horned Bees with a hive ($21).

$30 and up: the Large Guinea Pig Set ($30), both guinea pig sets ($40) or the 24 inch Dragon Egg set ($45).

Economy shipping is free on orders of $35 or more and $3.99 below that. Two mid-range sets, or one set plus a few small pieces, usually clear the line.

Common Questions About Flexi Toy Sets

Can I buy the prop on its own?

Only the hive. The Horned Bee's Size menu includes Hive (Small) at $4. The bucket, house, eggs and skull come only with their creature.

Is the creature different in the set version?

No. The Lobster, the bee, the crow and the dragons are the same with or without the prop. The set only adds the second piece.

Are flexi toy sets suitable for young children?

A set adds a second piece, and Micro and Mini pieces are too small for young children. For a young child, choose a Regular or larger set and keep the pieces where you can see them.

Can I add a set to an order I already placed?

Get in touch through our contact page as soon as you can, before the order is printed. We will tell you what we can change.

Pick Flexi Toy Sets by Where the Scene Will Sit

Flexi toy sets are worth it when the piece will sit somewhere and be looked at. A bucket, a hive, a house or an egg turns one figure into a small scene for a desk, a garden shelf or a display case. If the creature will live in a pocket or a fidget jar, save the money and buy it alone.

Check the set option on the product page, name a color for each piece, and look at the price the prop adds before you decide.

At Cosmic 3D Creations, every set is printed to order in Como, Texas, creature and prop together, and each creature is checked joint by joint before it is packed. You can pick up any set at our Canton Trade Days booth 4268/4269. The next shows are October 29 to November 1 and December 3 to 6, listed on our events page.
