Good Thanksgiving kids table ideas do two jobs. They make the table look set for a holiday, and they give children something to do with their hands between the turkey and the pie. A small flexi toy at each place does both. A Mini Pumpkin or a barnyard animal marks each seat, holds a name card, and then becomes a toy the child takes home.
This guide is for parents, grandparents and anyone hosting cousins on November 26. It covers which pieces suit a kids table, what a full table costs, games that keep the table calm, and when to order so everything arrives before Thursday.
Put one flexi at every place, use fall colors, and order by mid-November so the pieces arrive with a week to spare.
Why a Flexi Works at the Thanksgiving Kids Table
A kids table needs things that are cheap enough to give every child, small enough to fit beside a plate, and quiet enough to survive a long meal. A flexi meets all three.
It is a decoration first. Set out before the meal, a row of small pumpkins or farm animals makes the table look planned, even with paper plates and a borrowed folding table.
It is a toy second. Every flexi is printed in one piece with its joints already formed, so it bends and holds a pose straight out of the box. A child waiting for the grown-ups to finish can make the chicken peck or the pig sit down.
It makes no noise. There are no batteries, sound chips or loose parts. Nobody at the main table has to hear it.
It goes home as a favor. Every child leaves with the piece from their place, so you do not need a separate favor bag.
Thanksgiving Kids Table Ideas With a Flexi at Every Place
These setups start with one piece per child. Pick the one that suits how many children are coming and how old they are.
The pumpkin place marker
Set a Mini Pumpkin, 1.5 inches, beside each plate and tuck a small folded name card behind it. It looks like a place setting from across the room. At $1.75 each, a table of eight costs $14.
A different farm animal at each seat
Give each child their own animal: the chicken, the duck, the pig, the cow with spots, the horse or the goat. Write the child's name on a card under the animal. If two children want to swap before the rolls come out, let them. In Regular, 2 inches, each one is $2.75.
The barnyard centerpiece
Put an X-Large Pumpkin, 6 inches, in the middle of the table with the children's animals around it. The pumpkin stays with the host. The animals go home with the children. The X-Large Pumpkin is $15.
Name cards that bend
A Regular or Large animal can hold a card in its mouth or between its legs if you pose it before guests arrive. Test the pose on one piece first. Lighter card stock works better than heavy card.
A Harvest Lineup: The Pumpkin, the Chicken, the Duck and the Farm Animals
All of these come in the same six sizes on the product page: Micro 1 inch, Mini 1.5 inch, Regular 2 inch, Large 3 inch, X-Large 6 inch, and Keychain. The small sizes cost the same across the group. The Large and Keychain prices differ by design.
The Pumpkin. The most obvious Thanksgiving piece in the catalog. Micro $1.00, Mini $1.75, Regular $2.75, Large $6.00, X-Large $15.00, Keychain $7.00.
The Chicken and the Duck. Both move at the neck, so a child can make them peck at the table. Micro $1.00, Mini $1.75, Regular $2.75, Large $7.00, X-Large $15.00, Keychain $8.00.
The Pig. Priced like the Pumpkin: Large $6.00, X-Large $15.00, Keychain $7.00.
The Cow with Spots, the Horse and the Goat. Priced like the Chicken: Large $7.00, X-Large $15.00, Keychain $8.00.
The Fox and the Hedgehog. For a woodland table rather than a barnyard. The Fox is priced like the Pumpkin. The Hedgehog has no Keychain size, and its menu reads "Size - Color Varies", so choose it when you are happy for us to pick the color.
The Sheep comes in one size at $7, or $8 with a keychain ring. It is a good single gift but a pricey place marker. You can see the full barnyard in our farm collection and the fox, hedgehog and friends in the woodland collection.
Fall Colors for the Kids Table
Color is what turns a farm animal into a Thanksgiving piece. Type the colors you want in the Custom color box on the product page. It costs nothing extra.
Orange is the anchor. An orange pumpkin is the clearest fall signal on the table. Orange animals read as autumn too.
Brown, gold and deep red fill out the set. A brown horse, a gold chicken and a deep red pig look like a harvest table even without leaves and gourds around them.
Give each child their own color. If every animal is different, children find their seat by color as well as name. That helps the youngest ones who cannot read their card yet.
Match colors to tell pieces apart. If two children get the same animal, make one orange and one brown so nobody argues over whose is whose at the end of the night.
If we do not have a filament you named, we contact you before printing with the closest match.
What a Thanksgiving Kids Table Costs, Set by Set
These totals use the live prices above. Orders of $35 or more ship free by Economy within the United States. Orders under $35 pay $3.99 for Economy.
Eight Mini Pumpkins: $14.00. The cheapest full table. With $3.99 shipping it comes to $17.99.
Eight Regular farm animals: $22.00. Each child gets a different animal at 2 inches. Add the X-Large Pumpkin centerpiece at $15 and the order is $37, which ships free.
Twelve cousins with Regular animals: $33.00. That is $2 short of free shipping. Adding a Large Pumpkin at $6 for the host brings it to $39 and removes the shipping charge.
Four older children with Large animals. At 3 inches, four Large pieces cost $24 to $28 depending on the animals. Add a Mini Pumpkin at each place as the marker and the table comes to $31 to $35.
Keeping the Kids Table Calm Through Dinner
A kids table goes well when the children have something to do between courses. These games need nothing but the pieces on the table.
Pose and copy. One child poses their animal. Everyone else copies the pose with theirs. Take turns around the table.
Barnyard roll call. Each child makes the sound of their animal when it is their turn to say what they are thankful for. Small children who are shy about speaking will often answer through the animal.
Hide the pumpkin. One child hides a Mini Pumpkin under a napkin or behind a cup while the others close their eyes. Keep it on the table so nobody leaves their seat.
Line them up by size. If you mix sizes, younger children can sort them from smallest to biggest. It is simple, and it keeps them busy until dessert.
When to Order for Thanksgiving on November 26
Every piece is printed to order, so it needs time on the printer and time in the post.
Printing and inspection take 1 to 3 business days. Custom colors that need a filament change and large orders can take longer. If your order will take more than 5 business days, we email you before then.
USPS transit usually takes 2 to 5 business days. Those are the carrier's estimates, and they can slip in the week before a holiday.
Order by mid-November. An order placed by about November 12 should arrive with time to set the table and to fix anything that went wrong in the post.
Ordering for several families. If you are buying for a large gathering, send us a note through the contact page before you order and we will tell you how long it will take.
Pick up instead of waiting for the post. Choose Pickup at checkout to collect in Como, Texas. We email you when the order is ready. You can also order online and collect at our Canton Trade Days booth, 4268/4269, on October 29 to November 1, which is well ahead of Thanksgiving. Email us to arrange it, and see the dates on our events page.
Common Questions About Thanksgiving Kids Table Ideas
Are Micro and Mini pieces safe for toddlers at the table?
Our flexis are not intended for children under 3, and Micro and Mini pieces are small enough to be a choking risk. If a toddler is sitting at the kids table, give that child a Large or X-Large piece, and keep the small pumpkins out of reach.
Can I order every animal in a different color?
Yes. Add each animal to the cart separately and type its color in the Custom color box. If you are ordering several of the same animal, list the colors in the box, for example "two orange, one brown".
Will a flexi survive a meal next to food?
Yes. They are printed in PLA, which wipes clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Keep them away from hot dishes and the oven, because heat softens PLA.
Is there a turkey?
Not at the moment. The Chicken in brown or bronze is the closest bird for a Thanksgiving table, and the Pumpkin covers the harvest side.
Set the Thanksgiving Kids Table With One Flexi per Place
The simplest of these Thanksgiving kids table ideas is one Mini Pumpkin per child with a name card behind it. If you want more, give each child a different farm animal in their own fall color and put an X-Large Pumpkin in the middle. Either way, the piece holds their seat, gives them something to do during the meal, and goes home with them afterward.
Order by mid-November, or pick up at the Canton show on October 29 to November 1, and you will have the table ready well before Thursday.
At Cosmic 3D Creations, every piece is printed to order in Como, Texas, checked joint by joint before it is packed, and printed in the colors you type into the Custom color box. If you would like to see the sizes beside a dinner plate before you order, come to our Canton Trade Days booth and hold them first.
