Gifts for Reptile Lovers: A Bearded Dragon, Two Geckos and Four New Snakes

Gifts for Reptile Lovers: blog cover from Cosmic 3D Creations with 3D printed flexi toys

This guide is for anyone shopping for gifts for reptile lovers: the friend with a bearded dragon, the teenager saving for a leopard gecko, the snake keeper who already owns every T-shirt. Since October 14 we have added eleven new reptile designs to the shop, from a $5 rainbow snake to a $30 Mesh Chameleon, and none of them were in our September reptile guide.

Every one is a flexi toy, printed in place as one articulated piece in premium PLA, so the legs, tail and body move and hold a pose. Most of the new lizards are one size at one price, which makes choosing simple.

The best gift for a reptile lover is a flexi of the animal they already keep, in that animal's colors, so start with their pet and then pick the price.

Eleven New Gifts for Reptile Lovers in Our Catalog

Here is the whole new group, by price. All of them are in our reptile collection alongside the older designs.

$1 to $15: the Baby Iguana, on our classic six-size menu from a 1 inch Micro to a 6 inch X-Large, plus a Keychain size.

$5 to $18: the Snake, in Baby, Medium and Large.

$7 to $30: the Hognose Snake, in Baby, Medium and Large.

$12 each: the Bearded Dragon, the Leopard Gecko, the Licky Gecko and the Big Alligator.

$15: the Lizard with Cave, a set with props.

$25 each: the Bone Snake and the Robot Snake.

$30: the Mesh Chameleon.

The food turtles and the Gingerbread Snake arrived the same week. We covered them in our food and Christmas guides, so we leave them out here. For the older lizards, turtles and frogs, see our guide to 3D printed reptiles.

Start With the Reptile They Already Keep

Reptile keepers know their species well, and a generic lizard will not mean much to someone who spends evenings checking basking temperatures. Match the animal first.

A bearded dragon keeper gets the Bearded Dragon at $12. For a second, smaller piece, our older Mini Bearded Dragon is $7 on its own or $8 with a keychain ring.

A leopard gecko keeper gets the Leopard Gecko at $12. It is a different design from the slim Gecko we have sold for years, with a wide smiling face and big round eyes.

A chameleon keeper gets the Mesh Chameleon at $30 for a display piece, or the classic Chameleon in Large (3 inch) at $6 for a desk.

A snake keeper with a hognose gets the Hognose Snake. For any other snake, the plain Snake or our older Rose Snake is the safer choice, since neither is drawn from a single species.

An iguana keeper gets the Baby Iguana, in whatever size suits them.

Someone who keeps no reptile at all but loves them, often a child, does well with the Big Alligator or the Lizard with Cave, which come later in this post.

The $12 Lizards: Bearded Dragon, Leopard Gecko, Licky Gecko and Big Alligator

These four have no size or color menu. Each is $12, and the colors in the photo are what you get unless you ask for others.

The Bearded Dragon

A full-grown beardie with a wide head ringed by a spiky beard, a broad flat body and a long segmented tail. The legs swing and splay, the head lifts and turns, and the tail curves either way. Our photo shows a sunset blend of red, orange and yellow, and a sandy tan with a pale beard.

The Leopard Gecko

A wide smiling face, large round eyes, a ridged back and a long segmented tail, with spread toes on every foot. The photo shows a warm orange and a soft brown. It suits a keeper, or a child who is saving up for a real one.

The Licky Gecko

This one is the joke gift. It has a broad cream face, one bright blue eye and a big pink tongue curled out over its cheek, mid lick. The photo shows sand and cream. It is the one to pick for a reptile fan with a sense of humor.

The Big Alligator

A long sage green gator with a wide grin, big dark eyes and rows of raised bumps down its back. It is built from chunky segments, so it curves into an S and stretches out flat. It is a different design from our older Alligator, which comes in six sizes.

Two Bigger Pieces: The Lizard with Cave and the Mesh Chameleon

The Lizard with Cave is $15 for a set: a blue lizard with orange spots, a rocky gray cave, a little red food bowl and three segmented grubs. The lizard is the articulated part. It crawls in and out of the cave, and the bowl and grubs give a child something to set up and play with. If you know a child who wants a pet lizard and is not allowed one yet, this is the gift.

The Mesh Chameleon is $30, the top of our lizard range. Its body is covered in a flexible mesh of small scales, with a crested head, a big round eye and a tail that curls. The legs step and grip, so it can hold a branch-climbing pose on a shelf. The photo shows lime green. This is a display piece for an adult collector more than a toy for a pocket.

Four New Snakes, From a $5 Baby to a $30 Hognose

Snakes are all joints, so they coil, drape and wind between your fingers more than any legged design. Two of the new snakes have a size menu and two have one price.

The Snake is a chain of rounded segments that shifts from blue to teal to gold. Baby is $5, Medium $10 and Large $18. It is the cheapest way into a snake, and the Baby fits a stocking.

The Hognose Snake has a scale texture on every segment, a rounded head with big eyes, and colors that run through pink, purple, teal and gold. Baby is $7, Medium $18 and Large $30. It has more weight in the hand than the plain Snake.

The Bone Snake is $25, a skeleton from a horned skull to the tail tip, with a curved rib on each side of every vertebra. The photo fades from pale teal to gold, and it also looks good in bone white.

The Robot Snake is $25, with a plated helmet head, armored segments and small orange lights. The photo shows bright blue over gray. It suits a snake fan who also builds things.

The product pages give no inch length for these four. The Baby, Medium and Large labels tell you how they compare with each other, not their exact length.

What Gifts for Reptile Lovers Cost, Set by Set

For a gecko shelf: the Leopard Gecko, the Licky Gecko, the Crescent Gecko with a ring and a Large Gecko, $38, with free shipping.

For a child's reptile scene: the Lizard with Cave, the Big Alligator, a Large Baby Iguana and a Baby Snake, $38, with free shipping.

For a stocking or a coworker: a Baby Iguana in the Keychain size at $7, a Baby Hognose at $7 or a Baby Snake at $5. Add one to a bigger order and it rides along at no extra shipping cost.

Colors That Match Their Animal

A keeper will notice if the colors are wrong, so this step matters more than it does for most gifts.

Use the Custom color box. It sits above Add to cart on every product page. The new lizards have no color menu, and the two snakes with menus list only Rainbow, so the box is where any other color goes.

Name the main color first, then the accent. For example, "tangerine body, pale cream belly" for a leopard gecko, or "orange body, purple tongue" for the Licky Gecko. On the Lizard with Cave, give the lizard and the cave a color each.

Look at their pet's photos before you order. Most keepers post pictures, and two or three colors are enough to make the match.

Leave the box blank to get the colors in the product photo. If a color you ask for is out when we print, we message you with the closest match before we start.

Common Questions About Gifts for Reptile Lovers

Can the flexi go in the tank with the real reptile?

No. These are for a shelf beside the tank. PLA softens above about 140°F, a basking lamp puts strong heat on whatever sits under it, and a pet can chew small parts.

How big are the $12 lizards?

Their product pages do not list an inch size, so we will not guess here. If size matters for a shelf or a gift box, ask us through the contact page before you order.

Which ones suit a young child?

The Big Alligator, the Lizard with Cave and the Large Baby Iguana are chunky and easy to grab. The Mesh Chameleon has fine detail and suits an older child or an adult. Keep Micro sizes away from children who still put things in their mouths.

Can I see them before buying?

Yes. We are at Canton Trade Days, booth 4268/4269, from October 29 to November 1. To collect an online order there instead of shipping it, message us before you order.

Pick Gifts for Reptile Lovers by Their Animal, Then the Price

Start with the reptile they keep or the one they want. A beardie owner gets the Bearded Dragon, a gecko keeper gets the Leopard Gecko, and a snake keeper gets a Hognose or the Bone Snake. A child who wants a pet gets the Lizard with Cave. Then set the budget: $5 to $7 for a small extra, $12 for a lizard, $25 to $30 for a centerpiece.

Use the Custom color box to match their animal, and add a second piece if it gets the order past $35 for free shipping.

At Cosmic 3D Creations, every gift for a reptile lover is printed to order in Como, Texas, in the colors you ask for, and we check every joint before it ships within 1 to 3 business days. If you would rather see them in person, the next Canton Trade Days dates are on our events page.
